Lobsang's Journey
This song tells the story of Lobsang, a Tibetan boy who witnesses his parents’ tragic murder by a violent man. Fleeing to India with his sister, they endure poverty and hunger until a compassionate woman offers them refuge, enabling Lobsang to grow and study. As an adult, Lobsang vows to repay the kindness he received, yet grapples with the human inability to fully comprehend how to help every being. He dedicates his life to studying the human mind and nature, traveling the world in search of answers. Years later, he reunites with the man who killed his family, who tearfully begs for forgiveness—a forgiveness Lobsang grants with love. In that moment, he realizes that everything changes, and embracing this impermanence becomes the key to freeing others from suffering and attaining true happiness.

Lobsang was just a child, Barefoot on the mountain trail. Wind carried whispers cold, And fate wove sorrow’s veil.
One night the fire turned to screams, A shadow rose, a shattered dream. Father fell, mother cried, With empty hands, they said goodbye.
Run, Lobsang, run! Through the valleys, through the storm! Hold her hand, don’t let go, To the border, to the unknown!
Oh, the road is cruel and long, And the hunger sings its song. But kindness waits in hidden places, Love still shines on weary faces.
An old woman, soft and kind, Gave him shelter, gave him time. Books to read, food to share, A life rebuilt with hands that care.
“I am only one, a fleeting wave, Lost in oceans deep and grave. How can I help? How can I see? The path to heal humanity?”
Oh, the road is cruel and long, And the hunger sings its song. But kindness waits in hidden places, Love still shines on weary faces.
So he traveled east, he traveled west, Sought the wise, took no rest. Studied mind, studied soul, Searching how to make us whole.
Then one day, on foreign ground, A familiar voice, a broken sound. The man who took his world away, Trembling, crying, begged to say…
“I’m sorry, child, I see my wrong, Regret has burned my whole life long.” Lobsang stood, heart open wide, And let forgiveness step inside.
Oh, the road is cruel and long, And the hunger sings its song. But kindness waits in hidden places, Love still shines on weary faces.
Everything changes, all will fade, No wound forever, no curse engrained. To heal the world, to make things right, One must see beyond the night
